To close an app on the Galaxy S6, simply press and hold the Recent Apps button (the square button located to the right of the Home button). This will bring up a list of all the apps you have open. To close an app, simply swipe it away from the left side of the screen. To switch to a different app, simply tap on the app you want to switch to.
